My Idea of Fun in the Sun

posted on 27 April 2012

If you want to enjoy yourself and make the most of your summer look no further. In this article I'll give you all the suggestions you need to take full advantage of the weather. First it's important you are well hydrated and protected from the sun's harmful UV rays if you plan to be outside for any length of time. I spend some time in my rented Dordogne farmhouse, and boy it can get hot there. Now that we have our sun screen applied and water bottle in hand we need a good summer activity. The options are virtually limitless. Grab a towel and go get a tan on at the beach or go to the local swimming pool. Water parks are a perfect day excursion for when the sun seems too hot to handle. Go for a nice relaxing bike ride or just sit out on the patio with a cold drink, or under a pop up gazebo. Just remember to stay safe this season while your having fun in the sun.

Everyone Should Go to Thailand Once in a Lifetime

posted on 22 February 2012

I have been planing to go to Thailand since I was 10 years old. I've always wished to go there because of the culture and the nice people. I've been learning basic Thai phrases for a while so I feel confident about the language. The Thais live very healthy and I admire them. They live healthy because of the good food, and I think, the climate. I have a Japanese friend and they say that I must go to Thailand because it's a very fine place and peaceful place. One of the main reasons I want to go to Thailand is to actualy is to escape from my boring country and have some fun outside and explore a brand new country and culture - in some respects, I'll feel reborn (I imagine) from the experience and I will see life in a new way. I know travel can change people and I hope it changes me.

My Billing Aquadrome Experience of Motorhomes

posted on 31 December 2011

I must admit, I loved it when we used to hire a motorhome every summer in Billing Aquadrome, Northampton. The place was buzzing all summer with all kinds of events - mostly car events - you'd have anything from American muscle cars to Vauxhall Viva days. Even when there wasn't a special event on, the Aquadrome has a small funfair and there's always a good atmosphere there of kids playing on the rides and their mums and dads trying their luck on the penny slot machines. Even if you get tired of that scene, there's a few pubs nearby, and if you get tired of THAT, there's acres of land to walk around and find some peace and quiet with the swans and geese you see everywhere around the park lands. And if you get tired of THAT, you're on the doorstep of lovely country side. Hire a bike and go to Cogonehoe or Braefield, or if you're really up for it - go along the Bedford Road and see all those lovely villages you cycle through. And you're tired of THAT, you're tired of life my friend!

My Best friend’s Wedding with a Traveling Theme

posted on 25 December 2011

My best friend and I are certified travelers. We get to go to other countries twice a month with some of our close friends but most of the time both of us are used to go together. This year, we will be spending our last travel together at Singapore, where everything started. When we visited Singapore, we both promised to each other that we will travel twice a year. We loved the feeling of being lost and finding our way back home just with a map. This is the challenge in traveling, to get lost and enjoy being lost. This year, she will be marrying her long time boyfriend. Since girls are the boss when it comes to weddings, she chose to theme it up with traveling. From the set up of her wedding, to the giveaways and even her invitation which was a passport card was desired. Even though we won’t be spending much time together, especially in traveling, I know she will be on safe hands. Now she will have a new partner who will accompany her in any kind of traveling she could think of.

Six Months On, the Builders Revenge

posted on 18 December 2011

Having your house built to your own bespoke design, is a challenge at the best of times, but once all the arguments with the developer have died down, the builders have left the site (in a reasonably tidy state) and the snagging list has finally been completed there is nothing better than coming home after a hard day’s work to your shiny new home, kicking off your shoes, lying back on the sofa and surveying the splendour of your newly made dream. All those homewares just fit so nicely into the design too. However, as time goes on the lustre wears off and the self-indulgent warm feeling you had 6 months ago turns into frustration and anger as tiny little cracks appear in the walls. Small and microscopic at first they spread day by day throughout the house and start to resemble a crazy spider’s web getting bigger and wider .The curse of the plasterer strikes again. You can repaint the wall which at first will cover the blemishes but you know that the only way forward is to fill the cracks but what you really want is for the wall to be replastered and then the whole process starts again. For this very reason wall papering the whole house seems the only option although at a cost. Why should something as a beautiful flat blank canvass as a new internal wall turn in to such an obsession?
